When I try to enter a new destination, all of the icons are grayed out. Whats wrong?

This is normal operation for your safety.  In order to plot a new destination or enter a waypoint, you need to do the following:

1. Insert the appropriate map disc.
2. Come to a complete stop.
3. Set the parking brake.

 Once these steps are completed you will have access to the icons.
